Reports to: Commercial Director
Direct reports: Technical Support
Location: Head Office; Brighouse, West Yorkshire
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to provide technical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders. This is a key role within the business that supports product excellence and guarantees customer confidence.
Responsibilities:
The Technical Manager will work with members of the Technical team to provide information, advice and support to clients and internal stakeholders on all aspects of technical management. This includes:
- Creation of technical specifications.
- Work with Architects, Specifiers, Main Contractors & Subcontractors to provide project specific guidance
- Production of load and roof decking calculations.
- Undertake site inspections and attend site meetings as required.
- In-house product testing.
- Management of external product testing with independent testing houses
- Effective root cause analysis – producing corrective and preventative actions for any non- conformances which arise.
- Creation of MI and documentation.
- Consistently meet continuous improvement objectives
- Train and mentor Technical Support team members to ensure capability needs are met
- Oversee the creation of Thermal, Acoustic & Specification documentation by the technical team
- Focus on R&D within the business to continue to bring new products
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Sound mathematical ability
- Strong AutoCAD skills & 3D Design Capabilities
- Experience within the construction industry
- Health and Safety Experience
- Strong MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- A hands on and flexible approach
- Full driving license
- Working with the approved supply chain to maintain and develop relationships into existing and new markets
- Creation of Internal & External documentation
